for most of us we were never allowed to explore our full potential growing up.
never knowing if we could have been a great football player playing for the nfl or perhaps an actor or musician or even a doctor or lawyer.

For those of us raised as JW's . Do you ever wonder who you may have become. For most of us we were never allowed to explore our full potential growing up. Never knowing if we could have been a great football player playing for the NFL or perhaps an actor or musician or even a doctor or lawyer. What was the reason given not to pursue a talent ( it may take us away from serving Jehovah) If we have fame and money they are saying we will not keep serving Jehovah but if we are poor and uneducated we will stick with the "truth". In reality it's is a way to control their members. What do you think?

The Society loves its young people

by publishing a book "young people ask" this would be pretty much the extent of what they would do for it's young people.
it would be like a father saying to his kids i love you, here is a book how to live your life and never spend any time with them.

I am sure thats right 80% have engaged in sex. I was one who acctually did not. What a fool. I think if one acctually follows what they we are to do will be depressed . I would wonder how all the other JW Kids could go without. In fact years later I find out that most did not. Lived double lifes. and yes elders kids are the worst. I have heard of young ones giving parts at assemblies while they are living a double live... I wonder why the holy spirit would allow the elders to use them

Here's a good question. The bible says short hair is for a man and long hair is a glory for the woman. In the congreagation a man is to have short hair. If he had long hair he would not qualify for privledges yet a woman can have short hair and its ok. ITs funny how the society will pick and choose what they feel they take as literal.

thats right, that was the ussual reason " bad things could happen" , you would think 5 meetings a week would make a person have the ability to not engage in immoral activity or getting drunk etc. The reality is JW's are great when controlled like at assemblies with attendants watching your moves or at the hall or small get togethers put us in large uncontrolled groups and all hell breaks lose. SO JW's are not better then others
A prison can have inmates behaving peacefully when you have guards all around

What bothered me is the organization does nothing for its young people. I think it would have been better if elders spent their time arranging summer camps for hundreds of JW kids or large partys for kids to meet. Instead most kids felt isolated and lonely. Your social life in most cases was your congregation.As to dating once a year you had the potential to meet some one at the district convention If you didnt meet some one at that assembly you always had the hope for next year ..LOL

WT Intransigence Will Be (Is?) Their Undoing
by Room 215 intheir stubborn refusal to throw open a whole host of controversial issues -- blood, chronology, congregational discipline, child molestation policy, etc., etc.
-- to reappraisal or free and unfettered debate by the rapidly diminishing long-time jw loyalists, many of whom are cos and dos and who would urge reform and reason, would seem to seal the doom of the organization as we know it.
the clock is ticking against them and there is no safety valve on the boiler.

I agree they will go more mainstream....At first the members were hardcore the reward was great and the end was soon exciting times .. today its not as hardcore and ridgid. Its the evolution of a Religion

by Omega Man indid you ever notice that the only "studies", "interested ones" that ever came to the hall were either single(perhaps for many years) ,single parent or have a unbeliving mate?no offence to individuals in this circumstance but why is there never a father, mother and perhaps a few kids ( families) that were interested?
i think the "truth" appeals to certain indiviudals for the wrong reasons.
the last families i saw coming in the "truth" was in the 70's

I have been reading posts here for awhile. Some are very Intelligent and Though Provoking. I see at least two types of people posting here. The ones who never beleived in god and who lived a double live throughout their JW lives and the ones who really beleived it to be the truth but eventually came to grips with their doubts and were likely discourged.
